Do Y'all Remember.....
.... those hook holders that we old geezers used to put on the end of a cane pole to hold the hook? They were a small box made of tin or aluminum that held a cube of cork and 1-1.5 inch length of spring attached. You would simply stretch the spring over the butt end of the pole and wrap the line around the pole until it you got it the right length to stick the hook into the cork. I hope I get a few replys 'cause I'm really not THAT old! BTW, we (4) caught 148 bream from a pond last Saturday afternoon and all were 10-14 ounces! Took 3 hours to fillet them. Caught most on crickets and panfish assasains. Just proves what a well managed pond/lake can produce.
