I find the cheapest of reels these days often have decent mono on them , one or 2 of them have sat around for a few years and the mono is still good to go , interesting how much more advanced we are ,than way back when in this sport for sure . :highfive

Line is a lot more resistant to UV and environmental deterioration than it every has been.

Braid lasts for years.

I have some braid that is probably 4 years old. Kept out of the sun it has a very long life
