Having said that I've always wanted to try out the Varivas Area super ester in 1.4lb. I cant seem to find the diameter specification but remember a member who goes by S_V as quoting the diameter being in the 0.075mm( 0.00295 inch) vs the Ice Magic 0.105mm in 1lb guise. That is crazy thin even for me as i'm nearsighted( I can read 4 inches infront of me without glasses.) The 1lb-er Sufix fits through a #26 to #30 dry flie hooks with clearance so I think what benefits the Varivas will give me will be its non-stretch property, that alone i would love to experience someday, when Ebay sellers stop charging same amount as their line's price just to ship. Cheers!
I’ve fished that line…it is .090mm. I used it one trip and it came off my reel. Even though it was hi-vis I could not see it. I have used some smaller ester also. It was .085mm. If you want to try out some line that small I highly suggest the Lemoni Ester at 1.42# test and a diameter of .083mm. It is more manageable than the Neo Orange line….but hope your eyes are much better than mine. I’ve spent a lot of money trying out JDM lines…..all of the lines I have tried have been good but there are differences. First of all I’m not a huge fan of nylon line…..but there are times when that is what is called for. The only nylon line I have used that I can say I like…..and will use it on a pretty regular basis, is the Twitch Master. Of course I won’t be using it for bluegill fishing.
