Epic day! Boated over 120 fish today. Had 76 quality shellcracker..some chunky warmouth.....bass from 16 to 19 inches....crappie and bluegill rounded out the count. All fish caught using a Bison colored Trout Magnet on a Daiwa Gekkabijin jig head with a #10 hook. Used Varivas 1.8# test polyester line and a 4 foot section of Phantom FC leader. The rod was an Abu Garcia Diplomat Extreme 6' 2" UL Area Trout Rod. Reel was an Abu Garcia Revo MGX Theta 1000S. A fantastic quality shellcracker day....half the fish were at the 10 inch mark or better...and all of them had good girth. Did not even think about pulling out the Iprimi XXUL today......just too many big fish for that. The shell cracker were off of one bed. It was the only bed I found. I stayed until I stuck every one on that bed. Then I got into crappie and bluegill. All fish released to fight another day. Did not want to leave but had an 83 mile drive to make. Life is good and getting better!

On arrival early....67 degrees. Left at 2:30 and it was 70 degrees. Scanned all my places before I left....no other beds anywhere. I fished Nickajack Wednesday and no beds where I found the bed today. They can sure build quick. Still puzzling that the tailrace is almost void of bluegill and crappie.
