Thread: Finding A Cricket Cage

I've been looking for about two weeks now and the cheap ones are all I've found. If you find some of the good ones. Post were you got them please. I'm talking about the ones like my grandfahter had, metal ends, good wire. The small end had a cork stopper and the large end screwed on. I can't find any. The last good one I had left finally give up on me about two weeks ago. This one was as old as I am, 44 years that I know of, it may have been older than that I'm not sure.

I bought a decent Eagle Claw cage at a local bait shop and it works pretty well. It was only a few dollars if I remember correctly. I've only used it once though because it took so long just to grab one of them out of there and hook it. Is there some sort of trick to it that I'm missing?

I saw a couple at Pets mart, I didn't look at them, just noticed they had them. A pet store that sells lizzards and such might have more selection, but I don't know. They also had the pre-packeaged box of crickets, what will they think of next?

Wantabe that's what I'd like to find. I just bought a galvanized minnow bucket at Basspro that was made pretty close to the "old" ones with good quality. Looks like there's a market for the sturdy old kind of cricket cages with galvanized metal if someone notices.

Plano Cricket tube, model 740-002 is the best I have found. You won't cut yourself on wire and you just open the cap and shake a cricket out.
