I went to the neighborhood pond around 330, and got a pretty quick hit. Caught a handful of the smaller gills, and decided to switch to jigs. They weren’t biting on the trout magnet today, I didn’t think they would with the colder temps.

As usual there was a pause around 4 o’clock, then they got real active again.

I kept saying “just one more” because it was so freaking cold. The feels like was in the high 30s, but with 25 mile an hour winds it sure felt a lot colder than that.

After a half dozen “just one mores” I packed up just before sundown. Ended the day with 22 fish and zero gut hooks.

Most of them were smaller than usual, but the few respectable ones sure seemed to put up a bigger fight than usual. Actually, they all seem to be a little more aggressive than I typically experience.

After a long weekend where I really didn’t get much time to chill out, this was just what the doctor ordered.
