They do look fragile, LVS, but they can take more than you might imagine. I’ve had my 63 bent at the tip pretty good. That said, I try to be careful and especially not whack it on anything.

So sorry for you, I have four nice JDM rods, I have been wondering when the sad day will come. Fish on!
Happens. I know - I've broken 2! :banghead
snapped a brand new rod in half midway just yesterday only testing my drag a bit , i have not a clue why it broke where it did , but it was in a smooth arch and when it snapped it spanked my belly right nicely and left a whelp :Rofl
Yep, a few years back I broke right at the tip my Scott 5 wgt. I have never gotten around to the repair. I just have to VERY carefully drill out the tip top and reglue it. The action should not be affected at all. While on that subject, what would be a good glue to use to reattach it?

All is new again with a silver lining.
Got my replacement top section in from Chris at Finesse Fishing, excellent service provider by the way, can’t ask for a better person to deal with.
New tip section is perfect.
The silver lining is that I was able to cleanly break the tip the rest of the way off right at the next guide down from the fracture and play with it a bit of the rod, it still has great action, albeit quite a bit more power in place now. Will make an excellent light lime jig n eel/jig n worm rod, so now my 63 Luna has two lives to live: one as a sweet little 6 foot 3 UL/XF gill getter and another as a light line white/black bass 5 foot 10 rod. Will be ordering a proper tip top for this section and removing the foot guide that’s at the tip now.
Alls well that ends well, minus the $150 for the new tip section.
Two part epoxy strongest glue I know but I’ve never fix a broken tip before. Good luck though Bob. Let us know how you do it!:)

I would only use ferrule glue. If you use anything else and want to remove it for some reason it might not come off with other glues and epoxies.
