a crappie and sure enough was the ONLY good thump in the crowd
them warmouth never seem to bite lite

i rarely ketch any larger ones , but to be sure they have an attitude , my wife got one one day that was the same size as her jig

caught a bunch of those yesterday and ONE keeper size crappie. But the green sunfish family hit bigtime and are so much fun on light tackle. bigger ones eat up just fine as well but didn't keep any yesterday as we were mostly tossing net for bait for my catfishing buddy.

Those are much darker than the ones here, but still fun to catch.

they seem to vary a lot in shades , i often see really dark ones ,but we have also seen some that were really light .
water clarity is possibly a factor ?

I’d say he was scrappy!
