Panfish elite

Without a pic of the rod you're talking about I can't be sure but, I think I have one. I got it about 6 weeks ago. It is blue with a really cool eva(?) type grip with Fuji guides. It is 7'2" ( I think) and ultra light with a pretty fast action. I love it, I have it paired with a Daiwa 1000 series reel. A regal maybe?? I don't keep my gear at the house or I could go look. Either way, It's a fantastic rod. I tend to judge a rod by it's ability to set the hood on small fish. It's weird I know but catfishing is my second favorite, so sometimes we are deliberately seeking small 'gills for flathead bait. I can pluck those little dudes out with that rod and reel.

I picked up the 6'9" ultralight panfish elite today. Compared to my TSS rod, the reel seat is about 2 inches closer to the butt of the rod. This is frustrating because I like 6'6" rods, and this makes the portion of the rod forward of the reel seat 5" instead of the 3" I'd expected. I'm going to return it in favor of the 6' ul rod. It has a fast tip and a lot of backbone. The balance point of the rod with a 500 series reel is about 3" in front of the reel seat. I prefer a rod balance at the reel seat.

Love the part about it being a 1 piece rod though.

How many guides are on these rods?

8 on both lengths, if memory serves.

Don’t know the rods y’all re talkin about and bps is too far for a few reasons right now. The balance issue Schmoopie talks of could be fixed with a slightly larger reel. Many good reels in the 1000 series might make it just what you’re after.

I bought one of the Bass Pro Panfish Elite rods about a month ago. I got the 6 ft UL rated rod.
I really like it. Has a sensitive blank with a fast tip. Fuji guides and reel seat. I have fished
big bluegill and white bass with it. For me it was perfect for the white bass although it also did
well with the bluegill. I’m just a bit spoiled with some lighter weight JDM rods for bluegill.
For the $80 I paid for it I have to give it an excellent rating. No regrets. I also have the Trout Slayer
rod from Leland. Although another “good rod for the money” I would rate the Bass Pro Panfish Elite
rod a few notches above that one.

Anyone have a weight on the rod?

It weighs 3.6 ounces. Tip diameter is 1.6mm. 8 guides (including tip top)

Got the rod in and paired it up with a Pfluger 6920 President . Hope to get it wet after supper . It is considerably lighter than the Browning Air stream . Attachment 379522
