I’ve been fishing Nickajack tailrace for 3 years now. In the summer there are hardly any bluegill hanging around. The other tailraces on the TN River the bluegill hang around the tailrace all year long. It’s great in spring and winter but summer and fall is tough. However the KY bass and crappie hang around in big numbers in the heat of the summer. So I took what it offered up today. Caught over 75 fish.....mostly KY bass along with several crappie. I even did a drop shot with wax worms all around the dam and mooring cells but all I got were tiny bluegill. Of course this is nothing new for there. But I keep hoping it will be like the Pickwick tailrace.
