A little while back, I got to go out with Skeetbum and he showed me how he fishes the river. this morning I got to go out and practice the lessons that he showed me and to try and put a few fish in the box for lunch.

Well, the key words here were "TRY" and "FEW". Tim made it look a whole lot easier than what I was doing. But I did get to make the rod bend. But the fish just kept getting smaller and smaller. I was starting to wonder what I was going to do for lunch.

I moved in closer to shore where there was an old tree trunk on the edge of the water and made a pitch to the trunk. It dropped right at the base and started to fall. Then the line moved , I pulled back on the rod and the rod bent , and then the reel started to sing. Fish on and it had some size to it.

I worked that section of the river some more and got the rod to bend one more time. That was two in the box and that was enough for fish tacos.

I crossed the river and tried some more but I was back in to the tiny fish again.

But I got in some much needed practice ( still need some more, I may have go out again soon ) , got to bend the rods a few time and still managed to bring home lunch.

Tally for the day was 10 fish with two making the ride home. Name: river bluegills 7-12-19.jpg
