    Default Going to need a bigger board @ LP 05 13 19

Got wore out on some toad fish today. There's one fish that dwarfs the board... Started off trolling and picking pre/post spawn female in 21 to 24 FOW. Checked out a bank that goes from 21 FOW to 12.5 FOW and found males suspended at 10' to 15' - again pre/post spawn. The first one was a UFO!! Was casting Autos - not a lot of submerged brush or trees. going to bring some Area Trout rods tomorrow for a little work out. Water temp was 68.5*F.

The one in the overhead shot is the biggest Gill I’ve ever seen taken by someone I know. Absolutely wonderful fish. That is what keep me going back, even if sometimes its only for a couple of hours. Thanks for taking us along Sonny.

That's the tallest gill I've ever seen, taller than the 12's you got a couple weeks ago. 4" more girth than length is incredible.

Just jaw dropping, WOW!!!! I wonder why those bluegill grow to such large sizes??? Is it the warm climate out there or is there an abundance of food/combinations of both?

Wish I could float tube! This scenario is made for it. Going out tomorrow - to investigate how far the bank runs north. Fly fishers could do some line class records right now.

Troy - the water doesn't get cold enough to slow their appetite. We have bug hatches year round, lots of Shad & Shiners, crawdads (coming back), and the lake is extremely fertile from bird poop. LP is a major stop for migratory birds + there is a big resident population of non-migratory birds.
