    Default tilapia/bluegill massacre 3/31/07 *pics*

Straight to the facts, we caught 74 mixed between tilapia/bluegill in our local lake Yauco, Puerto Rico. we had a bucket full of fish and another at 3/4. we were fishing with nightcrawlers on a hook nothing else, no bober no weight on spinning reels and we were waist deep into the water(so the bait would go farther away). We were casting at like 10-15 feet from where we were standing.

my uncle caught like 30something, i caught 21 my wife caught 6(man was she excited at how strong the fish were pulling) including the biggest gill of the group and so on

lol i can see people booking trips to PR now:D i can guide for beer and pizza:p

well this are the pics. the 3/4 bucket was mine/wife/father/mother. the full was uncle/his wife/son/cousin

    Thumbs up Nice Catch!

Hey man that is a nice shellcracker, Did you weigh it? It has been a long time since I waded waist deep while fishing. Used to do that in south Georgia in the swamp with the snakes and gators. I think I was touched in the head back then he he. Can't move fast enought now. Steped in a gator hole one day and all they saw was my hat on top of the water for a second. Didn't take long for me to get on the bank though. Nice catch, Thanks for sharing. Jimmy S.

those are some real nice shellcracker ya got there. didin't realize PR had um.

PRjavelin, what part of PR do you live? I used to spend some time down there in the winter months. I used to stay near Ramey on the NW side of the island. Had some good times, wished I'd a done some fresh water fishin while I was down there. I think I'd skip the wadin though, I can deal w/ gators but ya'll got some big nasty crocs down that way!

yep, old army base thats it. use to rent a house on the beach right there, was real cheap back then, can't remember the name of the beach but it had a point on it. We use to surf off the point there and at some other places called middles, salsa and....man that was a while back...can't remember the names of those palces. Best beaches in the world for sure! Locals were very friendly too! I didn't realize I was missin out on the shellcracker though! I need to get back down there, sure was a nice place. good times
