You can slowly twitch your rod tip and make it hop on the bottom.Or you can cast it out and slowly reel it back in.Or you can fish it under a float and slowly move the float a few feet and stop and repeat.

I use the 1 inch sliders to cast and retrieve ,but a slip cork and a pan fish magnet gets these on the tip . Attachment 331811

A 1/64oz black jig with a nibble, will catch all you want. If spinning use 4# line with #5 split shot weight 15" above to help with distance. Let fall to bottom and reel just fast enough to keep the bait close to bottom!

I keep hesitating to order some black feather jigs, because all my life everybody and everything I read says chartreuse is the best color, maybe I'm afraid the fish won't see it as good as chartreuse?

Google Black colored Bugs or Black colored Beetles, click on images and look at all the possibilities for food source for our Blue Gilled Friends. My father fly fished for gills while I casted conventional offerings and almost all of his Panfish flies were black or had a black pattern. Surface or sub surface, black shows up well in any water color or depth. Lot more black insects than chartreuse ones. Just an observation, your mileage may vary!

u mean those little square nibbles that berkley sells in the jars? are those really worth it? i dont get it u just put one ona hook and cast it out and fish like them? i dont get how it works
