Default Handy little bluegill rig for cheap:)

I was at Wally World the other day, and on a whim I picked up a Zebco 11 Triggerspin UL combo. It was only 20 bucks, and I figured I would try it for bluegill, and throw it in the corner if it was a piece o' junk. I have taken it out a couple times now, and I have to say it is a good deal for the price. It is compact and responsive, and the drag holds up well- I hooked up with a 19 inch 4 pound cat and managed to land him after a good fight. It is really comfortable in the hand, and I can see that it won't be going to the corner any time soon. Has anyone else tried one of these?

I love the fact that you don't have to spend a lot of money to catch bluegill!

Evey so often I'll catch a few with just a hook and line.
    It really wows the kids.

I was so pleased with it I ordered the Zebco 11 triggerspin Platinum. I will pair it with an affordable ultralight rod, and report back on how it performs. These little reels are super comfortable, and just about perfect for sunfish and even crappie...

I love panfishing in MS and LA but don't like spending too much money when I don't have too. I've found that you can put a Zebco 11 on a 8 foot Zebco slabseeker rod with some 4lb spider wire super mono EZ line and catch bream, shellcracker, crappie and descent bass for around 40 bucks

    Zebco 11 and 8 ft slabseeker 24.99
Spider wire super mono EZ line 4.99
    Split shots 1.99
    1-1/2 inch (6) weighted bobber 2.99
    #8 long shank hooks 2.99
bait...catch your own grass shrimp, worms, crickets

Well the Zebco 33 sucks bad. I bought this as a cheap alternative on the real bad weather days I don't want my regular stuff outside.
Decided to take this pole down yesterday for a few throws and this rod and reel suck. I'm going to return it tomarow and just go spemd the money on a decent set up at Bass pro Shops.

all we use is 33's you just have to find the ones from the 80's or early 90's. i get them off ebay new in the box for about 20-30$. I wouldnt give em a nickel for the newer ones.
