Depends on what I'm doing. If I'm in a boat, UL's are fun. I have a bunch of them from 4.5 to 7.5 ft. I use them mostly for tossing small jigs.
Usually, I fish from shore with bait and use a 12-14 ft. float rod -- very fun!

What do you guys like to use for a rod and reel. I usually use something in the ultra-light category because they are a lot of fun. What do you guys use?

I use a Berkley Cherrywood UL spinning rod with a Quantum XT 00 spinning reel with #4 line. It's a walllyworld special, but I like it.
always Keep a sharp hook.
I use an ultra lite Ugly Stick Spin rod and 4 lb line. Can't beat the ultra lites for action.....
I love my ultra lite Ugly stick but I hooked up with a big cat this weekend at a friends pond on 4 lb test and I worked him for about 30 minutes...and finally the line snapped and an eye broke off the rod. Was pretty fun and a fun fight though...he surfaced once and looked to about in the 12lb range or so...
Where do you guys find the ultralite Ugly sticks?
Are they warranty for life too?
