    Default learned something new @ LP 06 07 18

Started out on gray skies - cool breeze - forgot my beanie - and wearing shorts. Don't know what I was thinking... Catch a few fish and it warms up quick.
Got into some very nice fish and some not so nice jig eating stick ups. 1st fish was an 11" eye opener. Gets frustrating when you are trolling and you have to back track on hung up fish & snagged jigs. Trolling in semi deep water, 24 to 28 FOW. After losing BS #4 I decided to try Chubs with out a blade. To my surprise they fish seem to prefer, at least today, the bladeless jig....

Dropped my camera - DOA. Just ordered another one - won't be here till Saturday. Got some pics and a few on my phone but don't know how to load them on to my computer. Lost 8 jigs too!!! Fishing ain't cheap.

LedHed please take this as a compliment, but those fish are grotesque they are huge. I sure hope your not eating them that water must be radioactive and you will start glowing green after the sun goes down. Nice fish I've been a peep on your post for a while thanks for posting. What lake is that in Calf. that they come from? If you ever get down to La thats Louisiana give me a holler and we'll go pull some cranks.

Those gills have much more girth than the ones I catch in Tennessee. When they get sideways it must be like reeling a bucket lid in from the depths.

As always - thnx for the comments guys
New camera got here today. Leary about going out tomorrow, maybe early...
SC - I fish Lake Perris, live in Riverside. We're outside the other LA. Thnx for the offer. I'm looking for someone that knows how to Crappie fish this lake.
Sometimes it's like fighting miniature Tuna, Stan. I'm using 7' and 7.5' rods to get a quick lift to get the heads turned up and toward me. If you don't - they will head to the brush piles and you have to backtrack to get them out. A lot of the big ones do the Tuna twirl at the end...

I see that sometimes on no spinners. High pressure or a big front makes the bite more finicky to me. Of course this is crappie I am referring to.

I get lazy and don't want to change most of the time. I need to pay more attention to change. The high pressure (and getting worse) is there and our fronts have been bouncing around....

Nice again. I too stay with what I like to drag instead of finding out if something else might up the bite. If you look in the pics with the bass on my latest on the home page you'll see the tiny thing that has done so well for me lately. It's a nothing but I think I found a color that appeals to most of what's around here.
