I tried that and it was way too big for their mouths, I'm hoping this buck disgorger that I ordered and is recommended on this post isn't as big.

I use a small 1916 aluminum arrow shaft cut to about 12". I took the feathers off of the shaft and drilled a small hole through the opposite end as the nock. I used some heavy braided line through the hole to attach it to my lanyard. The small nock works great to removing hooks from any fish, and is replaceable if need be...
