    Default Shellcrackers in North Alabama

What is the best bait for shellcrackers I have never fished for them but would take my little boy and try to catch a few didn't know what the best bait was to use. I've been reading some and looks like they should be on bed right now so I'm guessing they will be in shallow water I'm in north Alabama if that matters any help would be appreciated.

Red worms on the bottom or near the bottom should work. I hope you and your son have the best of luck!

Thanks we're going to try to give them a try this weekend. I was thinking crickets or worms but like I said I've never went fishing for shellcrackers specifically but I see a lot of pictures of them and thought he would like it so we will give it a try.

Your son will remember fishing with his dad a long time. Enjoy and take pictures.
