My Dad and I fished Barkley this past weekend (Friday, Saturday and half day Sunday) and braved the storms and rain. We ended up cleaning nearly 100 gills and shell crackers for three days. It is still a little early for consistent action but we caught and released at least 400 gills. We only kept hand sized at a minimum. We did end up with several nice shell crackers, the biggest weighed 1.81lbs. and we had several others from 1.24 to 1.74lbs.
Most fish were caught on wax worm / jig combo under a cork.
Water temps. stayed in the 68-71 degree range.
Overall a great weekend spent with my Dad.
Give them 10 days or so and they should be in full force.
Good Luck!
Richard
