Hot...but good day.
It was a scorcher here today but was able to catch several dozen good fish before I had to get out of the heat. All the fish...Gills and crackers...were on the bottom. I used a 1/16 ounce head with a Bison colored Trout Magnet and would just inch it along on the bottom until I got a hit. The problem with that was the grass. If I happened to drag it across grass just had to reel in....clean jig head off and cast again. I was averaging a fish on every 8 casts. It was a pain to fish that way but they sure weren't up on the bank and nothing else to do but cast as far out as possible and just deal with the milfoil and grass. I used 2# test NanoFil line today. Another fun day in the books...life is good!
