Default Folks that fly fish know........

Gills like spiders. I drew a spider on a piece of stretch band and cut it out and super glued it on the hook. Every time it hit the water,
    perch were all over it.

I may have cheated by wrapping the chartruse thread on the hook prior to applying super glue.

Great thinking. Nothing like catching them on a lure you made yourself.

Hey RR, I am a very low end fly tier, but have caught a number of panfish and bass on ones I tied. I am trying to visualize just what you used to cut out the spider pattern. Not sure what a stretch band is, all I could think of was a rubber band and it is not big enough for what you show there. Mind elaborating a little on how you did it?
    Thanks
