Surprisingly accurate.....current weather conditions can mess it up, but usually pretty darn accurate.

Tried the bream yesterday in a creek not effected by the high water. Fished from 8:30 till about 10:30, only caught 3, discouraged and went home. My brother started fishing around 9:30 catching hardly nothing until just before 11:00. Then they turned on in the next hour or so he caught 30 decent fish. That's what the " Tides For Fishing " table predicted. I know there are other variables to consider but I should have stayed a little longer.
Every day is a holiday and every meal is a picnic.

I used to check the published tables on best fishing times after I returned. In this area of Illinois the weather must be adversely affecting the published time most all the time. Perhaps it is different for bass and such. Bluegill I catch from a float tube can't read the tables. lol

There is something to it for sure. The old timers used to go by moon over head moon under feet for wildlife activity.
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
