Default Hot day on the strip pit .

It was supposed to turn cooler so I went off to a lake I have access to that produces midsize gills. I took a B&M Sam's super sensitive 12'. It worked well for nice long casts from the steep banks. I tied on a Crappie Pro jig I had tied in all hot pink and tipped with 2 wax worms. The scrappy gills wanted the jig on the move. At times I would get it back half way then drop it. That would often bring a hard hit.
The heat spiked to 91 with high humidity and little to no breeze. I finally ran out of wax worms and more importantly the three bottles of water. The fish basket was heavy for the climb from the lake . t was a good morning fishing in spite of the heat.

Pank jigs have been good to me the last several years for gills and crappie. Nice catch and that plate of fillets looks tasty.
