MonteSS .... there is some orange coloration on the lobe of the fish in the first picture. That orange denotes a female Redear, according to biologists, with the red lobe coloration reserved for the males of the species.
As to the red on the lobe of the Bluegill in the second picture ... it could have been from some shenanigans in the family tree, or it could just be an anomaly.
