My dad and I caught 164 of the pretties bream one day (many moons ago) while fishing a small slough off the Altamaha River. Most were double hand sized. We cleaned and ate everyone of them too. If you catch them on the bed it isn't that hard to mop up on them.
I do that alot. Crappie before 9:30 Bream once the sun is high and heating the water. Then crappie after 4 till when ever.
I know what you mean about the fish spawning that thick. There is a place called South Sauty on the Guntersville, Tn River area that I use to fish as a teenager. You could actually wade and straddle beds and as long as you didnt step in the beds you could catch them right between your legs. We caught them by the hundreds a day back then. When the willow flies hatch out all you have to do is shake a tree near the water and watch the feeding frenzy. Our limit is 50 and I clean 50 every time I catch them. I love bream. I am like most people though, I never target both in the same day but could manage the feat if I tried.Quote:
