AWESOME ! FLYROD ?:HandsClapping
Technically, it's almost a fly rod, since the rod was made on a fly rod blank. I caught it on my main bluegill rod, which is an 8' spinning rod made on a Lamiglas fiberglass 5-weight fly rod blank ( made with spinning guides and handle), with a live red wiggler on a 1/64-oz. jig head about four feet below a Gapen panfish float (super sensitive).
That gill is just Bursting a the seams! :yikesWow!
Awesome, nice catch. is that a shellcracker or pumpkiseed? It looks like a pumpkinseed we jave here in ny.
Neither - it's a hybrid bluegill, a cross between a bluegill and a green sunfish.
Way to go!. What ever it is you are feeding those gills, loan us some down here in NC
