    Default Was a slowwwww day

Dad and I went back to the pond but sure didn't have the luck we'd had previously. Caught 8 total, 6 keepers but one flipped outta my hand, so came home with 5. Worst part was I skunked dad, I'd have rather it been the other way around (he has a ball catchin' 'em). I told him to come back and get the fish after I cleaned them and him and his wife could have them for supper.

Gills are still nesting in the pond (could see about 20 fish on the nest next to where we were fishing), and weeds are taking-over, so looks like it's time to find a new spot.

    Biggest of the day:

Fishin' & eatin' without catchin' is still good. You got him out and he participated and
that counts too. All positives. Good eatin' size. Oh! Not havin' to clean 'em is good too.

I had a hard morning with only 10 keepers in Kentucky. Seems we need some rain and wind to get them going again. It was sunny and calm all morning and the bigger gills moved deep with tight lips !!!
The ones I kept came from water 19ft deep and about 15ft down using slip bobbers and red worms. Of coarse the little bait theifs were hitting great !!!

They always are, and I'm always thankful for every day we can.....he told me the fish were good . His (dads) younger sister just passed (at 86) and his older sister (91) has been having health issues, so yeah....I'm thankful.

That is right, and whether you catch anything or not that time is precious. I need a new fishing partner that I can share that with.
