I used a cane pole up until I was in my early 20's. I cannot count the number of times I have thought of getting another one just for old time sake. Dad taught me how to train it so it had a natual curve at the tip. Now the telescopic graphite poles are my main stay. Ahhh the good old days.

I keep two in My boat for backup. There aint there for looks but have been there when the going got tough. Old no shoulders sure hates a love tap from a cane
