1/64 oz orange jig head and 1/4" of nightcawler pulled 10 of these redears in along with 20 big bluegill.
Cast and let it hit bottom then reel in real slow.. no... slower than that.

Not to sound to dumb, do they taste as good a crappie???![]()
Perch jerken is my passion
IMO, bluegill and redear taste better than crappie. Firmer meat, a little more flavor. Put your index and bird finger together... that's the typical bluegill fillet. Nice cruchy morsels of fried goodness. Redear... their fillets are as big and thicker than some crappie. Taste just like bg.

Good tip on keeping it moving slow. Can't argue with results like that. I'm betting that orange jighead helped as they like a small crawfish when they can get it.
