Scouts canoe trip this weekend!

heading to a nearby lake to get our Scouts acclimated to canoes and do a swimming merit badge for a 3 day canoe trip down the Alapaha River next month. The plan is to canoe and fish and hope for a mess of bream to cook up for lunch tomorrow. Wish us luck. Packing light, so the tacklebox is staying at home (I'd hate for that to wind up at the bottom of the lake) but packed a waterproof box full of sinkers, small bait hooks and a couple of bags of 1 inch curly tail grubs. Maybe the kids can find some nightcrawlers or crickets tonight and outfish me.

And yes, the back-up plan is cans of vienna sausages and PB&J sandwiches. Rofl
