    Default Saturday Bream on Waxworms

Mainly just trying to see if I can post pictures.:o Had a good day fishing with my boy on Saturday and we brought back 15 pretty good size bream anchored by a nice 11" shellcracker. Would have been quite a bit more but for the wind whipping slack into our lines (bank fishing). I have always used crickets exclusively for bream, but decided to try waxworms just for a change. Don't know if waxworms are any better, but they sure aren't bad!

Well - apparently I uploaded a big file I didn't want to and now I can't seem to get rid of it.

Now that's a nice looking little batch of panfish. Them shellcrackers don't look a whole lot different then the bluegills. Shellcrackers do not exist up here so it is cool to see something different. Looks like they have a slightly longer face and tend to be a bit larger then the bluegills.
It is not about the equipment you have to use,
It is about how you use the equipment you have. :D

Yeah, they don't develop that "pug" nose that bluegills do. Shellcrackers keep that traditional fish shape.

Sunfish interbreed so much that sometimes even marine biologists don't know exactly what the fish is!

Glad you liked it. Another way I like to think of it is that the bigger the bluegill, the more he will be shaped like a ping pong paddle.
