Default Learning to fly Fish on Carters Lake Ga

Guys after reading everything I could get my hands on,, and a few pointers from my buddy Joe Coots ,Thumbs Up,, Thanks brother,, I got out and caught a few fish up on Carters yesterday,,,

I built the Rod "little 7' 3-W",,, Tied the flys,,, and caught fish "small fish" but fish,,, total for the day was two channel cats,,, two spots... and about two dozen blue gills...

I have not had so much fun with little fish since I was a kid.. :D

This fly fishing stuff is fun...

Glad you liked it. I'm sure those cats were fun on the fly rod! I hooked a 2-pounder on a 4wt with 6X tippet once -- didn't think I'd ever get him in. :D

Bream are great, too, particularly when you can get them on top.

I used to fish some small bream ponds with a flyrod back in my younger years. Had a great time catching 'em along with plenty of bass. My largest hookup was with a bass about 6 lbs.....but unfortunately I never got that fish landed. Brings back alot of memopries. Thanks for posting.:p

I'm also a beginner fly guy- hadn't gotten the hang of it just yet. Fishing that lake, though, is on my short term list. Congrats!

Glad you had a chance to enjoy a great way to fish. It is that much more exciting to catch something on flies I tied myself.
