Good Setup for Bluegill?

A 2" twister tail will sometimes catch larger bluegills if they are aggressive, but as others have said, most of the time you will do better with a 1" to 1 1/2" twister tail (if that's the lure type you choose). Once you have located a school of them, a small float dangling bait or a rig like slabsrus recommends will usually outfish a twister tail.

I like that powerbait setup too. It works good for perch, rock bass, bluegill, and other panfish

the lighter the better. 1/32 oz. jig w/#6 hook and very small tube, usually in brown or black. Pinch the skirt off right behind the hook to take care of fish biting short.

Makes it much easier for the bluegill to inhale.

Grizzly jigs all the way. on an ultra lite....4lb line

A black knat fly on a 9 foot flyrod has taken probably thousands of bluegills for me over the years
