I am catching some really good Bluegill in deep water right now. Kept getting my tube jigs jerked off the jig head with no hookup. AS guy told me it was Bream. So I bought some Red Wigglers and dropped them a line down into a crappie top. What a surprize! I am catching from 25 to 45 really good Bluegill in half a day. I am having a ball.

CATCH A BIG-UN
Sounds fun, just rub it in. with wind today our temp is 18.
A great idea when the crappie bite is slow. I may have to give it a try. How deep? Are you finding them on points or brush? What is the water temp.? Would love to see some pics.
I am fishing in 18' of water in a top just off the main channel. The water temp right now is 50.

Just wanted to add that there are some huge gills/bream around down here in LA, even with this crazy weather. I took my flat out to start getting ready for warmer days and found some stumps/falldowns in 13 fow. Tried to see if I could catch a few sacs and in about 2 mins got that thump. I thought the thump was a sac but ended up being a bluegill (bream). They hit that Gulp Alive panfish minnow bait. I was under I-55 waterway between LaPlace and Ruddock, water is low and temp a little cold be it felt good on my old 7ft ultralight Creekside rod.
