Default Different type of UL outfit

This is a Rhino RSC2 reel on my 4 1/2 ft. UL rod. It has 8# mono on it and I was able to do a bow and arrow cast with a 1/32 oz plug over 20 ft. down my hall. When I get either four or 6 pound on it I am sure it will cast better. This set up has been around for a long, long time. When Johnson Century first came out there were guys putting them on fly rods. The old Johnson's could turn the handle either direction to wind on line. The new stuff has a anti reverse so you have to turn the handle backwards which only takes minutes to get it down. It was so popular that Shakespeare came out with a model just for this reason. It was highly popular for years until the open face spinning reel got somewhat perfected. There was a person that made an attachment that you ran the line through so you could feather cast. One big advantage to this is that you can always keep tension on the line when reeling in.

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear to be bright until you hear them speak

I've never tried this, but I do have an old Field & Stream article about it. I'll have to go back and reread it. I also have three of the old Johnson Century's.
