    Default Great Day on the Chowan


    The wife and I went out for a few hours today , didn`t tear them up but caught enough to keep us awake , several gills, a warmouth, a yellow perch and three ba$$ ,...... two of which I caught on the flyrod with a Clouser minnow I tied Water temp 78 , in about 5-6 ft of water, only saw two other boats on the river

    Have you tried the white beetle spin with the red dot on the back yet Pat? We used to tear the 'Gills up around the Cypress knees with that thing up there!

    No haven`t tried them yet, trying to catch some on the fly rod......... I`ve used beetle spins in the past , used white and some of the yellow ones , always caught fish on them....... Haven`t been much this summer , just too hot for an old man....

    I second that. I schooled my Brother one day with a 1/16 white/red dot. Basically I caught and he watched cuz his gear was too heavy to throw what I was.
