thanks to M.Epperson
i was going to post this in the #1 bluegill bait thread, but that got closed so here it is.I looked through that thread and saw the picture M.Epperson had posted of his "spiders",and read all the comments of how good those types of lures were for Bluegills.I hadnt ever targeted bluegills with anything except bait(redworms, etc.)so i made some up.They looked nice, but i thought i could improve the action with a simple modification and it worked, very well.Instead of using silicone or rubber strands for the legs i used 10 lb. monofilament.it works awesome. I could see every bluegill within sight race for them as soon as it hits the water. The funny thing is they are all too small to eat the whole thing so havent landed but one decent bluegill on it,however the first fish i landed was about a 2 pound bass, then another day i got 10-15 small bass in a pond that only has bass.I have also caght crappie up to 2lbs on this same bug,i think this a lure that will catch just about anything, and is easy and fun to make.so thanks again M.Epperson and maybe try making a few with mono for legs and let me know if you liked it.
