    Default creek & river fishin

I went creek fishin last week before I went on vacation. I hadnt wade fished in a couple of years. I fished a small creek in east tennessee called war creek. I caught smallmouth, bluegills, redbreasts, greensunfish and my personal favorite redeyes. I had rather catch a mess of redeyes than (almost) anything. Had a blast. There were lots of overhanging trees and low limbs, I usually take a 5'6" light spinning rod but the last time I went I took a 4'6" UL combo. It was a bit easier to cast. They were chewin on a panfish assasin rainbow trout color. They also ate a 1.5" soft plastic craw pretty good. Caught a few of them on a strike king pond minnow but stopped throwing it because I forgot my needle nose pliers.
Its a great way to get kids hooked on fishing too because you get lots of bites. I took my oldest boy who is 11 and he had a blast. PS dont (ever) go to mexico on vacation. The food sux music does also and you may end up with TD also known as travelers diarrhea or montezumas revenge. I have never done anything to montezuma and if I had I cant imagin what it could have been to deserve such a crule punishment. LOL The last 3 days I was there i only ate once. Sick as a dog! Had planned on fishing today but am still sick at my stomack. Gonna take my youngest boy the next time. He is 7 and is a pretty desent caster. Been wanting to float the river with him but I shatterd my collar bone and had to have a pin put in it. Doesnt come out till the end of july. Cant paddle a boat with it still in there. River fishin should be at its peak by then. We catch fewer redeyes in the river but thet are usually a little bigger. Any of you guys river or creek fish? Lets here your stories.

My favorite time of year to float/wade is July here in central Indiana. I target smallmouth and catch an occasional spot. 4 lb. test on UL gear gives those 2lbers a fightin' chance. I love it when they come out of the water and fly higher than the top of your head. What a blast.....

Hear ye, hear ye! Pay attention here, the man knows what he is talking about. Mexico is a terrible place! Don't even think about going there.

Ike wonders off muttering something about "maybe that will clear out some drinking room in my favorite Cantina and some casting room on the lake." It was hard to tell, he was muttering.
