Default Chowan River .. Fri the 16th

    Belated report,
Went out Fri afternoon for a few hours, hot, hot ... not the fishing the weather !
Water temp 88 , fished deep, shallow and in between caught a few keepers and a lot of little ones.........
Fished with nightcrawlers under a bobber , also used the flyrod in hopes I would catch the big one on one of my tyes......... a couple of strikes but no fish, frustrating to say the least especially since the wife was getting a fish every cast , didn`t know which one I was going to throw overboard first her or the flyrod We did have a good time tho.
Had a flat on the truck when we got back to the launch area / ramp..... no fun changing the tire in 90+ temps
Another hot week in the forcast so probably won`t go out, temps in the hi 90`s heat index 105 makes it hard to breathe or enjoy ourselves...
    couple of pic`s

    My "big" one

Do you ever throw a Beetle Spin up there? I used to kill the gills with 1/16 oz. that had the white body with the red dot on the back on the Yeopim up there.

WTG Pat. I used to do very well there using a black with yellow stripes split tail beetle spin. Then if we fished for bass the only thing I needed was red shad plastic worms.

Glad somebody is catching some, haven`t caught any this year..........caught some up this way last year but must have missed the spring run..
Water temps in the hi 80`s , can`t find the big bream either, lots of little ones tho. Too hot to stay out long , we went out early this past Thursday saw a big cotton mouth in the Wiccacon , and another one on the road to the ramp .
I need a saltwater lic down that way right? outside the bridge ? If the weather cools off may try down that way , get out there and catch some for me
    Pat

The wife with one of the gills , didn`t catch enough big ones for a mess, all were released
