A guess......1lb.+. 1lb 4oz. maybe.
How long was it?
At any rate, it's a nice fish, and your nephew looks happy! That's what counts.
I would post pics of some we caught this week, with weights, but I don't want to hijack your thread.

Do gooder since April 26, 2009!
Fatboy, Congrats!
Great looking cracker, I'd say it's between 16-20 ounces. Looks like it's got some eggs in her too, that adds some weight to the fish.
Shellquacker, come on, I want to see some pics!
Nice catches ! looks like my plans to go this week are going to be washed out
Nice catch guys, I fish lake gustersville, Alabama and have yet to figure it out. I catch one once in a while by mistake I guess, I am in serious need of help. any information about location ( what to look for ),depth, baits and best presentaion for shellcrakers would be extremelly appreciated. I mostly tried bream techniques and apparently I am coming up way short. also if using artificial lures what works best??
Thank you
Dang, those are some real hosses...lots of folks would mount those two ears that are 1.8 lbs. Are those size ears commom in Virginia? I live in Southern Indiana, directly across from Kentucky and we have some bigguns but those are hosses.
i guess between 1 and 1-1/2lbs. great fish
When in doubt, set the hook.
Chris
