Just wondering how everybody is doing with thier worms. My African Nightcrawlers are really starting to turn on.Been pretty nice here,in the 70's.Inside the house went up to 84 a couple of times and the worms love it.I went from.the original 250 breeders to an uncountable number of them now. That was the beginning of December when I got em.How's all of yours?

how do you go about raising worms i would like to try
I got my Africans from organicworms.com,They can't get cold, like under 65 degrees.I have them in a back room that stays above that temp.Mostly in the 70's all year.Search the topic here.Worm beds I believe. We all went gung ho a couple of months ago.And there are a lot of posts about it newbei.lol.So far this year I have probably caught over a hundred fish maybe 200 mostly bluegills on the worms that I have grown by myself.

I got the worms in the mail, and they now reside in Arizona.8 to 10 inch bluegill catchers, about the diameter of red worms, catfish love them, lol.

I tried African nightcrawlers in the past and didn't have much luck. I bought some "European" nightcrawlers, and they're doing quite well. They're basically like big redworms. Excellent bait for shellcrackers. Large storage Rubbermaid container from wal mart, holes in the bottom, peat moss with ground limestone for bedding. Feed them kitchen scraps, (no meat), and chicken layer mash.
Yea,I have talked to a lot of guys from the East Coast that have tried Africans.Mever did well for them. But,here in Arizona they do great, need to stay really warm all the time. Will be great out here when it's 110 outside in the summer.Canadians just croak from the heat.

I have a couple beds of large European Wigglers. They are doing great! They are great producers and chicken laying mash is cheap feed. ole giller
