I used to use the Johnson beetle spins but these new baits have a ton more acition that the old bettle spins check them out at Jiggin Joe's Hand Tied Jigs they have a ton of tail action and you wont be dissapointed in them. They come in many different colors and can be made in more colors than whats listed on the site. Just contact him and he will hook you up.

yup I cant say they dont catch fish because I used them for a long time but I really like the new split tail baits at Jiggin Joe's Hand Tied Jigs they have been and are catching fish all over the USA. and I dont even fish with the beetle spins since I got turned on to these. Just try a few and see if you like the action and how your success rate is with them. I think you will be amazed how great the tail action is on these baits.

Bettle spins are one of my all time favorites for pond fishing. I use 1/16 oz. bucktail ,hackle or plastic on them. They catch about every thing in a pond or stream. I make my own so its cheap to.

About a year ago I was fishing with my son(11) and an old friend and my son found an old beetle spin in my tackle box, "I want to try this dad" he said, I said you can if you want to but I havent used them in years. He tied that thing on and started catching crappie like crazy!! So I went to digging in the tackle box for some more. To make a long story short, that eve. we cleaned about 70 slabs! I use them all the time now !LOL

I took my son Josh on his first fishing trip this afteroon (he's 5). He was tossing an orange beetle spin that he picked out. He caught this shellcracker and this nice bass all by himself. Proud Papa!

I have used them for years and they still have a place in my tackle box.

I found that they work best if when casting, you have a half a turn on the reel when the bait hits the water. Letting the bait fall before starting the retrieve netted alot less fish. Worked well for me.
