fish 4 all has got it right for them composter little guys.lol.Mine are strictly for fishing,don't eat much vegtable matter stuff,they get a dose once a week,under the newspaper,just to answer your question dewaw.We are beginning to be worm experts,might need our own thread soon,lol.
thanks for clarifying guys. i want to keep red worms, minnows, and probably waxies in my basement. got a little spot, about 10'x12' behind the stairs that should work for everything. besides, the bait shop is too far out of the way. i'm trying to finish up an 8'x12' fiberglass pontoon boat for all of the electric only lakes in my area and i'd like to be able to just hook-up and go. thanks again.
Raising waxies, that should be fun. I will stick with mealworms and worms.
why do you say that fish 4 all?
I tried raising them one time, was a flying mess of moths and a sticky mess of wax. Not gonna try that again. Would rather raise maggots, was slightly easier and less messy but did stink really bad if the media went bad.
thanks for the heads up. i like using 'em, maybe i'll just buy 'em 250 at a time. i'm looking to solve a problem- not start a hobby.
Wax worms, right, just have to check because of different lingo on here. You can do it if you have the room and patience. I just diudbn't have the room and definately didn't have the nerve to deal with the moths when they escaped. It is supposed to be easy enough if you get it down. Will have to see if I can find some of the old sites I used to get mine going.
Mealworms are 100X easier though so unless waxies are that much better I would raise mealies and worms.
Yep....meal worms are the easiest you can raise .
