I use it rigged with a split shot, count it down to the desired depth and crank it REAL slow. Great for Crappies and big gills.

I use the 5 a lot. The smaller ones always wanted to roll. I probably retrieved too fast. I've caught everything that swims on them.

I just saw that new tiny Rapala with the single hook at BPS. Looks like it would just kill the big Bluegill. I've got to get a few in Shad (silver) and the perch colors.

I have caught a number of pan fish using both the floating and the splitback Rapala while bass fishing. As far as targeting pan fish with it I dunno. Every time I can remember catching one was while the lure was just sitting still on top of the water and I caught them because they poped it and foul hooked themselves. Good Luck

The Rapala F03 is one of my favorites for bedding bluegill. It usually works well for bedding shellcracker on some of the more shallow beds too. But it's important to tie them on with a knot that leaves it on a small loop of line instead of pulled down tight to the eye. A small split ring would probably work just as well, but I've never tried it.

I dont use those but I use the Bass Pro speed minnows during the summer and twitch it across the tops of the beds and catch some monster bream and bass. They love those things. Especially black and gold or black and silver.

Got me interested, so I looked at that and just ordered a couple for myself. Will see how they work out.
