Default This Thursday, August 20th is a new moon

Aren't new moons supposed to be good fishing, similar to the full moon?? I think I'll take the wife redear fishing Thursday morning and see if we can get a mess. It's been rather slow around here because of the hot weather. What's everyone think about a new moon for fishing?

I'm aware of the moon phases, but it seems like most of the "prime times" occur when I can't possibly fish. So, I just fish whenever I can. If a trip happens to coincide with a good moon phase, so much the better.

    Thumbs up Confidence

redearhoosier, The moon phases on the full and new moon have been good fishing for me if the storms don't mess it up.
Most important is that if you are more confident that it will improve the catch, it probably will.
It has been a strange year here in the midwest. Normal year I would say the bedding is all but over. This year everything is different.
    Wish you the best, Illinoisgiller
