Only had time to fish a few hours, so got out pretty early.
Followed your guys thoughts and worked my my way up the east shore. Had to cross the lake to the other shore to hit this lay down. Just looked too good and caught first fish under the main trunk.
Could not buy a bite up under the shade on the east shore?? I ran up the whole bank and no fish.Got to the end and the trees are opened up and found some fish, mostly dinks. Worked my way back on the sunny side and caught a couple keepers on a deep drop off. Finally found 2 weed mats in deep water and found the fish.
21 keepers in about 3 hours, most were 7-8 inchers. Not the best day, but sure better than working!!!
Here's some more picts, I don't get here often but it is a very nice place to fish. Thanks for the info guys!
PS... Chaunc - Thanks for the snake reminder!! Started to get close up to one of the quarry walls and took a second to look at the wall instead of the water. There was a black rat snake sunnin on a rock!!! Must have been a 2.5 or 3 footer!!!![]()

Breathing that good fresh air over the water in early and not catching any fish is better than the hussle and bussel of going to work in my book

I don't touch a thing when I'm here. It's an old quarry that is privatley owned, but managed by the DNR. Have to get permission card from the land owner with some rules.... Dawn to dusk, No motors-gas or elec, No fishin on holidays & Sunday, Shore fishing only from West shore, No alcohol, and on and on.... Only once in the past few years have I seen anyone there other than the land owner. Don't wanna do anything to get me on the No Go list.Even picked up some trash from someone else before I left. Anyways, there is so much cover as it is I never know what to hit first. I feel like a kid in a candy store as soon as I push off from shore! :D:rolleyes:
