Default Hit the State Forest with Taylor this morning!

Me and Taylor got up early today since camp is over and hit Clark State Forest again. Found lots of fish on beds and red ear full of eggs in 12 - 14 FOW just off their beds. Wind was bad and I screwed up the best bedding fish we found. (Was taking one of the hook and the wind got a hold of the boat... Taylor says were going into the trees and I hit the trolling motor and it hits right in the middle of the bed... They stayed spooked on that set of beds all day ) Anyway we need a good anchor system for the boat that will be my next project! Didn't get too many pics as I got dirt all over the lens of the camera.

Taylor boats the first fish of the day:

I had to get in on the action:

Taylor is really wanting to learn to take fish off the hook... she is getting pretty good:

Took this with the cell... Right before we left Taylor hooked this guy by the dam on #2 pound test line... what a battle took her about 6-7 minutes to get to the boat. He fell for a 1/80 ounce black and yellow jig I made that has been doing well on this lake:

Like JJ said, it's always great to see dad's and kids having fun fishing! Glad you found some.
When I had a son 10 yrs ago I was thrilled to have a fishing buddy. Now he's such an animal lover he gets mad when the fish die and he'd rather play with the bait.... But his 5 yr old sister came outside a while back while I was scaling some bream and wanted to watch, then started playing with the fish and asked if she could help me! With a spoon in her little hand an me adding a little pressure, she scaled a few and just grinned the whole time. Loves to catch them too! Now I've just got to get her baiting her hook and taking them off and she'll be set for life! Tell Taylor we're all glad she's such a great fishing buddy for you and she's doing a great job! You too Joe!
