Crappie eggs?

I caught a few fish today, couple of females in the bunch and I know some people love their eggs. I've never tried them but was wondering how to prepare them if I wanted to eat em?

I have eaten them just like fish. Just dip them in some egg batter and roll them in corn meal with some salt and pepper and fry them up. You better have a taste for them though. Not everyone will like them.

Well, I'm gonna at least try them. They might end up spit all over the wall, but at least my curiousity will be satisfied. Might like em.... I like anchovies, chicken livers, cali-mari and stuff like that. Who knows.. :o Thanks for the reply\info!

caution cook them on low to medium heat with a splatter screen. They do pop alot, High heat and they will explode! Hot grease flying no fun

ripper, I only used it early this morning and they weren't in the shallows, so I tried another location with plans to go back and doodle -sock the hell out of em, but never got back.

I got to catching them over by Crowder and spent the rest of the day there and abouts. Everyone there said the crappie came in last night and almost everyone caught their limit. One guy told me he caught 37 keepers in less than an hour......... after dark.

Haven't even looked for the yum beaver tails, too broke, spent too much money on fishing stuff lately, and plan to use the ones I have or minnows. By the way, they were only hitting minnows today for me. Never got a bite one on jigs. Tomorrow it will probably be jigs they prefer.

Oh, by the way, water temp on Eufaula at several locations at 7pm was 62. Might be lower up towards I-40. I'm going to bed, 8-9 hours on the bo*t today wore the old man out.

Crappie and perch eggs are the bomb!! Just deep fry them the same way you do your fish but do heed the warning about the popping. It's not too bad if you don't cut the sack anywhere, but if there is a hole, they tend to have several mini-explosions seconds after hitting the grease. As they said, just put a screen over your skillet or fryer and all will be well.

As far as the fishin' today, my son and I fished Rock Creek around the bridges and all the way back to the north on the west side of RR bridge. We didn't catch anything but dinks and only around the bridge pilings. Couldn't find any fish shallow, although we had 60 to 61.5 for water temps. We were fishing jigs only, but everyone I talked to in that area had the same result whether they were using jigs or minnows.

I know some people caught fish today, because I saw them cleaning them in the campground at Arrowhead when I stopped in to check out the new dock.
It looks to be pretty nice and the guys said they had put in a bunch of pvc shelters in the wells and they have been catching fish off of them.

Well, I too am beat from being on the water all day, time to check in with the sandman.
