Default What is the right sd card for Lowrance?

Tried out my hds 7 today. It was okay but the rough water caused it to reboot all the time. Any way.....Lowrance doesn't have a picture of the sd card but they want to sell maps. I don't see the need for maps. Anyone know for sure what kind of card I can use to record my trip and how many GB's my unit will accept.

You either have a problem with your wiring or your unit. It should not need to be re-booted, no matter how rough. Some how, your losing power. You need to fix this ASAP.

Unit is compatible with Navionics SD cards

HDS-7 unit only has one SD card slot. The specs didn't list the size, but I bet it will accept a 1 gig card, if not more. An SD, MMc, or MMC+ card will work in these units.

Thanks for the reply. Now I'm really scared. Kerr had about 2 foot waves and I was bouncing some but I didn't think it was enough to cause reboots. I saw some where on here, and I can't find it somebody was using a 16gb card. Hopefully there will be more posts. Going to Eufaula Friday if it does it again I'm headed for the dealer.

Is it rebooting, or do you have to restart it? Strange that it would restart on its own. I would think the system should be able to take the shock of waves. You might try to contact Lowrance customer service and ask about it. It does not sound right.

I wouldn't think that was normal. Did you buy it local, or have to order it in? Too bad Poteau is so far from Tulsa, Lowrance is just up the road from me about 25 minutes.

I've had good luck with the toll-free Customer Service line at 1-800-324-1356 and info via email.

I needed a new transducer mounting bracket for the used 520c I bought. I called to confirm they had them, walked in, and they just gave it to me. Saved me a little less than $15. They treated me right and I've heard they treat others the same way. The service in itself is worth looking seriously at a Lowrance.
